    This weekend (Feb. 28-March 2) is the 67th Annual Connecticut Home & Remodeling Show at the Connecticut Convention Center.  Not only is this the place to go for the latest in products, vendors, and ideas for your home and outdoor living spaces, there’s an opportunity to win a $12,000 Room Makeover Contest or a luxury oak and velvet chair!

    The Connecticut Home & Remodeling Show, sponsored by the Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Central Connecticut, is a must-see event for anyone and everyone looking to make their living spaces, both indoors and out, a perfect fit for their individual tastes and lifestyle. As Connecticut’s largest and longest running home and remodeling show, the Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Central Connecticut offers residents of Connecticut and western Massachusetts a one-stop shopping experience in home products and services. You will be able to find a wide variety of home improvement, building, and remodeling exhibits featuring thousands of ideas for the home and yard.

    More than 400 local companies will be represented, and local builders, remodelers, designers, architects and other professionals in every home category will be on hand to offer free advice.Not-to-be-missed design seminars include:

    • ”Five design must haves” by local designer, Lisa Davenport.Ask the designer – bring your questions and challenges.
    • How to have high design at low cost.
    • Top 10 tips for decorating with rugs.
    • Bring your pictures, plans and ideas for free advice from local architect Nick Daveline.
    • 65th annual Student Design Competition.

    This year’s home show features ideas and hands-on demonstrations of designer details anyone can use to achieve magazine-worthy results in their own home and outdoor space.

    4:00 p.m., Fitting Your Furniture to You as You Would Be Fitted for a Suit, Jessica Buonafede, Oak and Velvet.

    The audience expected to attend this year’s Connecticut Home & Remodeling Show include:

    • 94 percent who own their own home.
    • 18 percent who own a second home.
    • 80 percent who plan to complete a home improvement during the next year.
    • 57 percent who  plan to make a purchase at the home show.
    • The average attendee household income is $115,882.
    • The average value of attendee’s home is $317,647.
