Channelside – Old Saybrook, CT
Tucked in between Chester Bowles Highway and the Connecticut River, Channelside is a uniquely hidden gem within the Old Saybrook area.
Channelside’s homes are by-and-large waterfront and shoreline properties that give residents a breathtaking view of the river and Long Island Sound.
Old Saybrook, though, is probably best known for its most famous resident: the legendary actress Katherine Hepburn. She lived in this town for many years and the town is now planning to build a memorial to her. Plans are in place to renovate the former town hall building and turn it back into a theater, which was its first intended use. The theater will seat 268 people once complete and Katherine Hepburn memorabilia will be on display for patrons of the theater, which will be named after her.
